Browns superb; Giants not so Super
October 14th, 2008
Well, the NFL week came to a close with a rout … just not the one everyone expected. The Cleveland Browns battered the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants, 35-14. One had to think when Big Blue closed within 17-14 on an 80-yard TD drive at the end of the first half the final 30 minutes were a formality. No way, as Cleveland scored all 18 points and made the Giants’ defense look bad and Eli Manning less-than average. Eric Wright scored on a pick-six off a 94-yard interception return and Derek Anderson and Braylon Edwards connected five times for 154 yards, including a 70-yarder and a TD. So, the Giants come back to earth and the Browns live another day. A perfect end to a typically imperfect weekend in the NFL.
