Giants ship Jeremy Shockey to Saints

Well, we posted yesterday that Jeremy Shockey was a Giant question mark as the team headed into camp. Not anymore. Jerry Reese pulled the trigger and sent the enigmatic tight end to the New Orleans Saints for a second- and fifth-round pick.

Great move by Reese. Shockey’s behavior never matched up to his talent. Kevin Boss more fits the Giant mold as a player. And winning the Super Bowl without Shockey certainly made Reese’s decision easier. Have to wonder why he didn’t do the deal before the draft. Listening to Michael Kay and have to agree that the picks would  probably have had more value in April 2008 than they will in 2009. Also, have to wonder if Bill Parcells ever called to see if he could bring Shockey back to Miami, where he played in college.

Great move. Disagree? Speak up!
