Canadian women’s hockey star Hayley Wickenheiser is going to lace ‘em up and take her shot at playing in a Swedish men’s hockey league. The captain of the Canadian women’s hockey team has signed a one-year contract with the third-tier club Eskilstuna Linden. Bet she’ll handle the going better than Danica Bratrick.
And Johnny DuRocher, a former University of Washington quarterback who overcame a brain tumor, is having some arm woes but they shouldn’t be enough to douse the Mariner pitching prospect’s dream of making it to the bigs.
