Jon Bon Jovi’s Soul wins Arena Bowl
Talk about an absolutely bizarre, marathon finish to a sports event. The Philadelphia Soul wins the Arena Bowl for owners Jon Bon Jovi and Ron Jaworski. The game took forever to finish and the final was Soul 59, SaberCats 56. Bon Jovi & his entourage left their box with about a minute left and seemingly safe lead. Next thing you know San Jose scores two touchdowns and has an onsides kick chance to get the ball back and either tie or go for the win. Not sure whether it was a great finish or just an epic, never-ending one.
Teams were battling on field at end of game, too. The length of the finish can’t help make the game appetitizing to the mainstream. Personally, if I ever see JBJ again it will be too soon. But he has the trophy and that is what matters. So, should this be considered the end of the 25-year championship drought in Philly. Methinks not. Arena does not equate to major championship. Not sure it ever will.
