Jock itch strikes Trojans, er, USC

It’s been a rough road to the first game of the season for Pete Carroll and USC. First, quarterback Mark Sanchez dislocates a knee before a practice. And now, the LA Times reports that as much as as 25% of the team has been affected by tinea cruris, also known as jock itch. The problem appears to have been caused by new compression shorts or tights worn under their pants. "Sometimes they can’t walk," said tailback Stafon Johnson told the paper with a giggle because he has remained itch-free. "I don’t know what it is, but I’m staying away from it."
