Will NFL try to ‘86′ Ocho Cinco?

The powers that be at the NFL have a bit of a situation on their hands. Actually, on one of their receiver’s hands. Chad Johnson of the Bengals is no more. He is officially Chad Ocho Cinco. When the mercurial receiver came out with Ocho Cinco on the back of his jersey once in the past, he was fined. Now, the NFL finds itself in a mess because how can you tell a player he can’t wear his name on the back of his uniform. Will be interesting to see what the No Fun League police do here. And it will be even more intriguing to see if ‘Ocho’ decides to sue for the right to wear his name if told he can’t. Meanwhile, folks at the NFL shop are probably getting ready for a bunch of orders for a personalized Ocho Cinco jersey they don’t know if they will be allowed to sell. Lawyers are waiting by their phones and Blackberrys.

He should’ve just changed his name to “Big Douchebag.” Everyone in the sports world already knows him by that name, and we wouldn’t have to wait to find out what the NFL Commissioner (who, ironically, wanted to change his name to that first) would do about it…
