Favre coming to sleepaway camp
Like all good, enthusiastic kids, Brett Favre loves camp. Brett Favres loves everything, so that is why the NFL Network is reporting that he plans to submit a letter of reinstatement and join his fellow campers with the Green Bay Packers this weekend. Why do we think this isn’t about to happen or his fellow bunkmates won’t welcome him as they did after he celebrated a TD pass?
Not to be outdone, are the New York Jets. Favre must have submitted a demand that he can only play with team that has green in its uniform. What else could the Jets be thinking coming off a 4-12 debacle? Was Joe Namath not ready to bring back the glory day. Singular. Well, Broadway Joe played in Alabama and Brett is from Mississippi so that may be close enough. Brett Favre or no Brett Favre, the Jets aren’t a Super Bowl team. Figures he would want to come to New York, where he can back up Eli Manning as the second best QB in the Big Apple from Mississippi. Anyway, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting the Jets have received permission to speak to the unretiring one.
