Herald: Time to get rid of Manny
July 25th, 2008
Steve Buckley of the Boston Herald has seen enough of Manny Ramirez’s act. He says after the slugger begged off of playing on Friday against the New York Yankees it is time for the Red Sox to send him far, far away.
And in other Yankee-Red Sox news off the field, a judge released the man who allegedly beat someone he thought was a Bomber fan with a bat. Judge said media made it spin out of control.

I am a Yankees fan who lives in the town in question and after reading many local articles, I would have to agree with the judge. His friend started it, the guy in the car probably shouldn’t have gotten out, and the guy with the bat made a REAL bad decision, thinking he was helping. Not that attacking someone with a bat is excusable, but the circumstances of his involvement have little to do with sports and more to do with impetuousness.
Perhaps the judge should sentence him to 1 good whack at Manny’s knee, so he’ll have a real reason to sit. That’s killing two birds with one stone, I think
The Sox could’ve used that fan in the lineup last night…at least he can hit. (I wonder if he can he play leftfield?)
